Free fruits for all
In many places, you will find fruit and nut trees located alongside streets, on open meadows and public open spaces, luring attention with rich fruit which is not fenced away. But you may wonder: is it really allowed to collect nuts, pick some apples, plums, figs etc.? To avoid misunderstandings, fruit tree owners mark such trees which are allowed to be harvested by general public with yellow ribbons tied around the stem. A simple method but triple effect: it reduces the waste of fruits that otherwise would not be harvested, gives opportunity to people who do not have access to fresh fruit, and it helps to spare other trees which the owners intend to harvest themselves.
