Building Solar Cookers

Use solar energy for preparing food

Directly using solar power to cook food? Yes, you can! Simply save a lot of energy for your cooker by using a (self-made?!) solar oven instead. It is a low-cost, ecologically-friendly technology that seems to have everything going for it, even more when built from recycled materials. Solar ovens gather solar energy - light and heat emitted from the sun - and designed to absorb more heat than they release. And with some patience the sun cooks a tasty treat for you! Using an old pizza box, aluminum foil, black paper and a few other ingredients you can easily built your own solar cooker – several instructions can be found in the web.

Costs: € - €€ Can be done free as made of everyday materials (recycled materials) but their are also existing prefrabricated kits
